Tickets for these unique shows will go on sale Monday March 18th through Ticketek. Kate’s critically acclaimed album ‘Nightflight’, released last year, set her front and centre in the psyche of music fans and media alike. Since her last Australian tour, Kate has toured the US with Ben Folds Five and sung a principle role in London with the English National Opera. With these being her first duo performances in over a year and her debut performance in this kind of live setting, tickets are sure to be in high demand. Kate says, “I’m very much looking forward to being a part of Heavenly Sounds. It’s such a beautiful concept. I haven’t sung in a church since high school, but they do tend to have very gorgeous voice-friendly acoustics. Also, I’ve been told I’m not allowed to swear during these concerts which might be good for me.” Kate Miller-Heidke’s Heavenly Sounds tour promises to offer something quite magical. Be sure not to miss out on this unique touring experience.
We are proud to announce Beth Orton's first Australian tour since the release of her acclaimed album ‘Sugaring Season’. Taking place in May, tickets for this brief tour of churches and cathedrals are available through www.ticketek.com.au and are on sale on Monday 4th March, except in Perth where tickets go on sale on Tuesday 5th March. Beth Orton is a BRIT Award-winner and two-time Mercury Prize nominee who is well-renowned for her collaborations with other artists, as well as being regarded as a pioneer of the folktronica movement. Her collaborations have seen her work with artists such as Bert Jansch, Emmylou Harris, The Chemical Brothers, Beck, Jim O’Rourke, and Ryan Adams among others. Since its release in September, Beth’s latest album ‘Sugaring Season’ has been embraced by audiences and media around the world. After a six year hiatus from touring and recording as she raised a family, Beth has stripped back her music to its folk roots and delivered her comeback album, heralded as her ‘masterpiece’ (Mojo Magazine). On this very special Heavenly Sounds tour, presented in beautiful churches and cathedrals around Australia, Beth will be performing songs from ‘Sugaring Season’ in intimate solo mode, as well as tracks from her classic recordings ‘Trailer Park’, ‘Central Reservation’ and ‘Daybreaker’. Expect nothing short of a spellbinding evening of the most enchanting sounds from Beth Orton as she tours for Heavenly Sounds in May. Tickets go on sale on Monday 4th March (Tuesday 5th March in Perth) via www.ticketek.com.au
We are delighted to announce that Julia Stone will be the first artist to perform under the Heavenly Sounds banner in 2013, bringing her haunting vocals and mesmerising performances to churches and cathedrals around the country next February. Julia’s new solo album 'By The Horns' has been receiving rave reviews worldwide, her recent tours saw her captivating audiences in Europe, the UK and her sold out national tour here in Australia. Described by Triple J Magazine as "emotionally fraught, stunningly beautiful, chilling and evocative,” this collection of new songs is bound to give you goosebumps in the extraordinary live setting of historic churches and cathedrals. For these concerts, Julia will be touring with Ross Irwin (Cat Empire, The Bamboos), Ben Edgar and Ed Fairly (Gotye), who will all be playing a variety of instruments. Julia explains, "The most exciting for me is that between the four of us, three of us play the trumpet - so it will make for some very sweet horn arrangements. From years of playing big band music through school I am so thrilled that I will be able to harmonise with other brass. All the boys sing beautifully so there will be lovely vocal arrangments that take the songs to more dreamy places." Melbourne indie pop outfit Vance Joy will open proceedings. Vance Joy has an original voice which at first he kept to himself. Feeding on a diet of The Pogues, Paul Kelly, and whatever else was playing, he cut his teeth performing at open mike nights in Melbourne. It is folk music with pop influences. Songs that grab you by the scruff of the neck and hold on for a moment. Tickets for these very special shows are on sale now through www.ticketek.com.au
